Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund, 2-1, at Wembley on Saturday to win the Champions League title in the first all-German final in the tournament’s history. 

2012-13 UEFA Champions League（CL）決勝が５月25日ウエンブリースタジアム（Londn, UK）で開催され、バイエルンがドルトムントを2-1で破って、UEFA CL通算５回目の優勝を達成した。

バイエルンは５月1日のCL準決勝でバルセロナに圧勝してチャンピオンズリーグ進出した。バイエルンは今シーズンBundesligaで通算リーグ優勝23回（最多記録）を達成している。現在ドイツで最も人気の高いチームである。

We Own the Night run series kicks off May 18 in London's Victoria Park, uniting thousands of female runners in a celebration of sport, style, design and culture.

 ナイキは５月19日に「We Own the Night」（WOTN）をアムステルダムで開催した。18日のロンドンに続くヨーロッパ５都市シリーズイベントの第２弾である。

WOTNはヨーロッパの５大都市で連鎖的に開催されているランニングイベントで、10kレースであるが、夜の8 時にスタートするナイトランで、18歳以上の女性が対象である。

米国内で開催されている「Nike Women’s Marathon」シリーズは、完走者に特別デザインの「ティファニー・ネックレス」がプレゼントされるが、WOTNのほうはヘンリー・ホランドのデザインした「Race Day Pack」がプレゼントされる。ホランドはUKを代表するデザイナーの一人で、ポップ感あふれるデザインで定評がある。Race Day PackはTシャツ、トート、ブレスレットの３点セットになっているが、18日のWOTNロンドンでは「ブレスレット」が注目された。

Each city 10K of “We Own the Night”, will serve up a unique experience that speaks to the respective city’s character and energy. Nike athletes and influential personalities from the worlds of music, fashion, film and TV will join race participants in each locale.

WOTNは今後もBerlin（５/24）、Paris（５/26）、Milan（５/31）で開催される。

Chelsea win UEFA Europa League

Chelsea defeated Benfica 2-1 in regulation time after a stoppage-time header by Branislav Ivanovic that sailed into the back of the net.

 2012-13 UEFA Europa League（EL）決勝が５月15日アムステルダム・アレナ（Amsterdam, Netherlands）で開催され、チェルシー（UK）がSLベンフィカ（Portuguese）を2-1で破って優勝した。チェルシーは1-1で迎えた後半ロスタイム、イバノビッチがヘディングでゴールを決めた。

チェルシーは昨シーズンのUEFA Champions League（CL）優勝チームなので、5月25日まではチャンピオンズリーグ今後10日間はUEFA Europa LeagueとUEFA Europa Leagueのトロフィーを同時に保持する初めてのクラブとなった。CLとELには同時参戦は不可能だから、確かに珍しい偶然である。

UEFAカップ戦はいよいよ25日のUEFA Champions League Finalを残すのみとなった。

adidasはFulham（本拠地：The Uptown Park）とスポンサー契約で合意に達した模様である。The Daily Mail（UK）が報じた。これまで無風に近かったプレミアリーグは、プーマとアーセナルが結んだスポンサー契約で一気にオーバーヒートしてきた。

日本から見ていると、プレミアリーグのスポンサーシャッフルなんか大勢に影響無いように見えるかも知れないが、実はスポーツアパレルブランドの最終戦がヨーロッパで始まったのである。アンダーアーマーとウォリアもアメリカからプレミアリーグの「Kit War」に参戦したが、日本のスポーツアパレルブランドはどこも参加していない。

プレミアリーグのチームスポンサーシャッフルは、「Team Kit」受注競争などではない。パフォーマンスブランドのプロモーション戦争である。

ヨーロッパブランドにとってチームスポンサードは、これまでサッカーKitの直接販売を意味していた。しかしアメリカブランドにとってはヨーロッパ市場進出のためのブランドプロモーションである。ナイキほどのブランドでも、EU市場へのアパレル販売は新しい経験なのである。これから米欧ブランドの直接アパレル対決が始まる。プレミアリーグ「Kit War」はその前哨戦である。

FCバルセロナは５月11日、リーガ・エスパニョーラ優勝が確定した。２位のＲマドリードがエスパニョールと1-1の引き分けとなったため、試合がなかった首位FCバルセロナの優勝が決まった。

残り２試合のＲマドリード（同81）は、４試合を残すバルセロナ（勝ち点88）を逆転する可能性がなくなった。FCバルセロナは２シーズンぶり22度目の優勝である。

 第132回FA Cup決勝戦がウエンブリー競技場で５月11日行われ、Wigan AthleticがManchester Cityを1-0で降して優勝した。ウィガンはFA Cup初優勝である。

2012-13 FA Cupはイングランドとウエールズから758チームが参加し、半年にわたって激戦を繰り広げてきた。４月13〜14日には準決勝が行われ、シティとウイガンが決勝進出を決めた。シティは2012年FA Cup優勝。今回は準決勝でArsenalを降して決勝進出した。いっぽうウイガンは今季リーグ18位で、戦前の予想はシティが有利と見られていた。

Ajaxは５月８日、Willem IIを5- 0で下し、3季連続通算32回目のリーグ（Eredivisie）優勝を決めた。最終戦を残しているが2位PSVと勝ち点差４となって優勝が確定した。
