The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

HBO leads the night with seven awards

Breaking Bad was named best drama, while Modern Family took the leading comedy award for the fourth time.

第65回エミー賞授賞式が9月22日夜、ノキア・シアター（ロサンゼルス）で開催された。ドラマ部門作品賞は「Braking Bad」（AMC）が受賞。コメディ部門作品賞は4年連続「Modern Family」が獲得した。

最多受賞局はHBO（7部門）で、Liberace Biopic（３部門）とBehind the Candelabra（２部門）、Veep（２部門）の３作品が受賞した。２位はShowtimeの４部門だった。最も注目されていたNetflixは３部門で受賞した。

ドラマ主演男優賞はJeff Daniels（The Newsroom : HBO）、主演女優賞はClaire Danes（Homeland : Showtime）が受賞した。

Veep is an HBO television comedy series, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, set in the office of Selina Meyer, a fictional Vice President of the United States.

コメディ部門の主演男優賞はJim Parsons（The Big Bang Theory : CBS）、主演女優賞はJulia Louis-Dreyfus（Veep : HBO）が獲得した

Netflix : House of Cards

Netflix made history by earning the first Primetime Emmy Award nominations for original online only web television.

今回最も注目されていたのはNetflix（online streaming network）が受賞するかどうかだった。エミー賞はもともとTV界のアカデミー賞みたいなものだが、Netflixはストリーミング・コンテンツ・サービスで、言わばオンラインTVである。 

Netflixは監督賞（ドラマ）など３部門で受賞し、良質のコンテンツ制作が可能なことを証明した。過去10年間、HBOの独壇場だったCATVネットワークに代わって、Online Streaming Networkの時代が始まるのである。
