Marcus Mariota wins 2014 Heisman Trophy

NCAA College Footballレギュラーシーズン最終日の13日、ニューヨーク（ Best Buy Theater, Times Square）で第80回Heisman Toropy（年間最優秀選手賞）受賞者が発表された。今年の受賞者はMarcus Mariota（QB：Oregon）だった。

最終候補は12月8日に発表され、Amari Cooper（WR : Alabama）、Melvin Gordon（RB : Wisconsin）、Marcus Mariota（QB : Oregon）の3人がファイナリストで残っていた。Mariotaは95.16％の得票率で、史上最高レートだった。
Mariotaはハワイ生まれのJunior（3年生）で、今シーズン372回のパスで成功254（成功率68.3%）、3,783ヤードのゲイン、38TDパスを記録している。ハワイ生まれの選手受賞は初めてで、またオレゴン大学選手の受賞も初めてである。

College Football 2014シーズンは12月13日Army Navy Game 2014（M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, Maryland）でレギュラーシーズンを終わり、20日からから全米各地でボウルゲームが始まる。今年からスタートするCollege Football Playoffシリーズは１月１日にセミファイナルが開催される。National Championshipは1月12日、AT&T Stadium（Arlington, Texas）で開催される。
