Ronaldo had to wait five years since first winning the award as a Manchester United player, as Messi found a way to overshadow him in each of the past four years.

FIFA（HQ：Zurich, Swiss、Pre’ : Sepp Blatter）は１月13日、2013年バロンドールとその他の受賞者を発表した。FIFA Ballon d’Or 2013はCristiano Ronaldo（Portugal）が受賞した。

RonaldoはReal madridとPortugalで69得点を挙げ、World Cup欧州予選のスウェーデン戦（11月19日）でハットトリックが達成したことが評価されたと見られている。2008年の初受賞後は、MessiポイントはMessiが２位、Riveryは３位だった。

Nadine Angerer can now add FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year 2013 to her list of honours this year. She helped Germany to lift their sixth successive European trophy in Sweden. 

その他の受賞はNadine Angerer（Women’s Player of the Year）、Jupp Heynckes（Coach of the Year for Men’s）、Silvia Neid（Coach of the Year for Women’s）が受賞した。女子の最優秀選手Angererはドイツ出身のゴールキーパーで、現在はPortland Thorns FC（Portland, OR）に所属している。
