Jeff Van Gundy predicts the Rockets will win the 2014 NBA Finals

ＮＢＡは４月16日でレギュラーシーズンを終了した。各球団は82ゲームを消化し、東西カンファレンスのそれぞれ上位８球団が19日からプレイオフに突入する。

"I'm going to pick the Western Conference winner and I'm sticking with Houston,,,," Van Gundy, ESPN analyst, said  on the eve of ESPN's playoff coverage. 

すでに最終日を待たずにリーグ最高勝率が確定していたSan Antonio Spurs（Western）は、プレイオフ全体のホームコートアドバンテージを獲得している。いっぽう14日にイースト首位が確定したIndiana Pacers（Eastern）は、カンファレンスファイナルまでホームコートアドバンテージを維持する。ディフェンディングチャンピオンのMiami（Eastern）は、イースト第１シードがかかっていた14日のWashington戦にLBJとChris Boshを温存した。明らかに第２シード獲得を狙った作戦で、プレイオフ対策だったと観測されている。
